Deities, Elements, & Connotations Pt III: Three Sides to Every Story

The Six are elements of the Three; The Three are the heart of the One . They are Six; they are not One; they are not Three. They are Six and Three; One and Six; Three and One. The Six arise from the Three, and the Three are each one that is two.

The Three are the mind of the One; the Six are elements of the Three. They are Three; they are not Six; they are not One. They are Three and One; Six and Three; One and Six. The Three cradle the Six, and the Six are each two that are one.

The One was torn into Three; Three were stretched into Six; Six usurped One. The One is both beyond existence and no longer bound by it; it is the meaning of life, and its meaninglessness. It was the unification of the world. Six stand over the corpse of One, and Three chew their way through its flesh.

These are the stanzas at the beginning of the relevant note pages for each deity, or group thereof. I've tried to summarize each as they view themselves into a few lines.

I'm currently overhauling some aspects of the setting, trying to patch holes and snip threads, so more information will be forthcoming, but this is a really solid stepping-stone on that path, I think. I've also developed a few timeline entries describing the events above:

 ### 1647 AE

The Elves organize themselves into six powerful Conclaves to govern their vast territories, with each specializing in a different element of magic and headed by a powerful Archdruid. The Dwarves are hesitant to embrace this new power structure, marking the beginning of tensions between the two races.

 ### 1651 AE

Faced with the reality of the mortal limits of magic, the Archdruids reach for ascension, beginning their search for apotheosis.

 ### 1895 AE

The Archdruids and their inner Circles are able to pool their research and design a ritual to totally merge the Archdruids with the universal essence of their magical expertise. The Archdruids ascend to become the Six, but fracture the One into Three by doing so.
